56k.gif (1064 bytes) Modem Issues

Modem Manufactures

A driver is a piece of software that allows Windows to talk to the modem correctly.  New drivers tend to correct bugs, improve performance, and increase the reliability of dial-up connections.

It is recommended that you look for the V.90 update as well as the *.inf (driver) file.  Both are usually required to connect correctly.  Manufacturers do tend to release several driver revisions. Check back every so often for updates, especially if the modem in the computer is new.
